What are V-S's sales terms? ANSWER: FOB V-S plant; net 30 days.
Does V-S Industries have experience in cold heading? ANSWER: Yes, our strategic alliance with Accurate Threaded Fasteners (ATF) allows us to evaluate the practicality of using a cold-headed process to reduce cost in the design stage. We have two dedicated machining and grinding cells on-line that start with a cold-headed blank from ATF.

FACILITIES
What industries does V-S Industries serve? ANSWER: V-S Industries serves the Power Tool Industry, the Automotive Industry, the Electric Motor Industry.
What types of material does V-S machine? ANSWER: Currently, we run AISI 1045, 1060, 1117, 1141, 1144,12L14, 1215, 4130, 4140, 41L40, 8620, 86L20, 4340, & 52100. We also machine 300 and 400 series stainless, as well as various grades of aluminum and brass.
How large is V-S Precision (located in Mexico) and what type of products do they produce? ANSWER: V-S Precision is 32,000 square feet and employs approximately 190 people. V-S has been established in Mexico since 1993, and we are the largest United States-owned screw machine producer in Mexico. V-SP is capable of making practically all of the same parts as V-S Industries in Wheeling; the primary focus is on shafts with multiple secondary operations. We have CNC Swiss Turning, CNC Chucking, friction welding, CNC Milling and Drilling, grinding, single/multiple spindle screw machines, and thread rolling.

What is the largest diameter part V-S can make? ANSWER: We have 2 1/4 in. (57mm) capacity through the spindle, and can chuck parts up to 8 in. (203mm).
What is the smallest diameter part V-S can make? ANSWER: We normally don't go below 1/8 in. (3.2mm) diameter.
What is the longest shaft V-S can make? ANSWER: We go up to 26 in. (660mm) in length.
What types of multiple spindle screw machines does V-S operate? ANSWER: We run New Britain's, Gildemeister, and EuroTurn (ZPS).
What is the electronic interface capability with customers? ANSWER:
Does V-S do their own heat-treating? ANSWER: Yes, we have 3-induction heat treat systems with a fourth unit scheduled to go on line in 2001. Furnace processes (e.g. carburizing, carbon nitriding, etc.) are done by local heat treat sources. IMS Gear in Germany is one of the largest heat treat facilities in the Black Forest, and their experience is helping us expand our in-house capabilities.
Does V-S machine powder metal, castings, fine blanks, or forgings? ANSWER: Yes, we currently supply finished machine parts from near net shape processes.
Does V-S Industries run transfer machines? ANSWER: Yes, we have 5 Eubama (German-made) transfer machines, and plan to expand on this capability every year.
