Art Institute of Chicago

The Art Institute of Chicago found its home on Michigan Avenue in 1893, and houses over 300,000 works of art within 10 viewing departments. The museum is open every day of the year with the exception Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day; and Tuesdays are free admission day for all. The museum is open at 10:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, and closes at 4:30 p.m. with the exception of Tuesdays--closing time is extended to 8 p.m. On weekends the museum opens at 10 a.m. and is closed at 5 p.m. For further information, please call (312)443-3600.
